The National Center for Families Learning, a private nonprofit organization located in Louisville, KY, is seeking a Manager, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to oversee and support organizational commitments to diversity, equity, and inclusive practices. The position works closely with a cross-functional team to research, implement, monitor, and evaluate best practices for internal growth and external facilitation of DEI. Primary responsibilities will engage staff in learning and development to embed DEI strategic priorities across the organization, support workforce and human resources development, ensure internal and external communications reflect organizational DEI commitments, and serve as an honest broker representing the organizational commitments with partners, families and communities. This is a remote position.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages and oversees aspects of DEI for organizational growth, implementation, and improvement
  • Researches and advises on diversity, equity, and inclusion issues
  • Assesses organizational DEI practices, data, and develops recommendations for improvement
  • Supports DEI communications and change management strategies
  • Identifies external trends and recognizes best practices for organizational improvements
  • Develops and delivers custom DEI trainings on a variety of topics
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure organizational DEI commitments are embedded for internal and external improvement
  • Develops organizational DEI report for summarizing DEI organizational performance for the President
  • Additional tasks as assigned

  • Maintains awareness of current professional information in the fields of activity, undertakes regular and ongoing efforts to maintain competencies in the skills and incorporates new knowledge and skills on the job
  • Shares pertinent information with supervisor/manager about work progress, successes, concerns and other issues that may have an impact on the services intended for families
  • A commitment to upholding the organization's diversity, equity, and inclusion principles and practices

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • 3+ years of experience leading organizational improvement initiatives, particularly related to DEI strategy and programmatic leadership
  • Experience directly advising executive or senior leadership, department leads, or individuals with supervisory responsibilities
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain a high degree of integrity, credibility, confidentiality, and trustworthiness
  • Ability to autonomously problem solve
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, ability to conceptualize and communicate ideas, organizational skills, and interest in working with a team
  • An unwavering belief that all families want the best for their children and deserve to be treated with respect and dignity
  • Proven track record of ambitious results in previous roles
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain a high degree of integrity, credibility, confidentiality, and trustworthiness
  • Self-awareness, a regular practice of reflection, and a desire to continuously improve
  • Skilled at collaborative action planning and execution
  • Travel up to 40% including occasional nights and weekends

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged period of sitting at a desk and working at a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times
  • Communicating with others to exchange information
  • Ability to travel

Salary range $50,000-$60,000
